Terms
This is the terms for Gildhour, published by iMix Labs (Uppervox LLC). The same text is at gildhour.com/terms.
Effective October 13, 2026
Gildhour (gildhour.com) is made by Uppervox, the studio of Alexander Costa, an individual in the United States ("we", "us"). By using Gildhour you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it. Contact: hello@uppervox.com.
What Gildhour is
A tool for tracking hours, tips, flat fees, mileage and expenses, making invoices, and, for companies, recording team punches. It runs as a web app you can install to your home screen, and as an iPhone and Apple Watch app. You must be 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account or join a company.
Plans and price
-
Basic is free, needs no account and has no punch limit.
-
Company features are free during early access.
-
Premium (an account that syncs your devices) is a subscription bought on gildhour.com. The price and billing period are shown before you pay, and nothing is charged without your action. It renews automatically each period until you cancel.
-
Cancelling: More, Manage subscription, at any time. Premium stays on until the end of the period you paid for. Payments are processed by Stripe.
-
Refunds: if something went wrong with a charge, email us and we will look at it. Where the law gives you a right to cancel and be refunded, that right applies.
-
Price changes apply from your next billing period, after we tell you.
-
Premium granted by hand during early access stays free until we tell you otherwise, and early-access users are never billed retroactively.
We may change or end early access with notice on gildhour.com.
Your numbers are your call
Gildhour calculates pay, overtime, tax and totals from the rates and rules you set. Overtime, break and tax rules differ by place and job. Check results against your contract, your employer's records and the law. Gildhour is not legal, tax, payroll or accounting advice. Mileage and tax figures are estimates.
Your data and backups
On Basic your data lives only on your device. If you clear browser data, lose your phone or uninstall without a backup, it is gone and we cannot recover it. Premium keeps a synced copy, but keep backup files too. You own your data. You give us permission to store and process it only to run the service for you. See the Privacy Policy.
Accounts and passkeys
You are responsible for the devices and passkey provider (for example iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager) that hold your passkey. We cannot reset a lost passkey because we hold no email or password for you. Tell us and delete the account if you think someone else has access. You can delete your account in the app at any time.
Companies
A company using Gildhour is responsible for using it lawfully: giving employees any notice or getting any consent that monitoring and location laws require, paying people correctly whatever Gildhour shows, and keeping records the law requires. Flags such as off-site or location jumped are signals for a person to review, not proof of wrongdoing. Do not make employment decisions on them alone. Company owners can delete the company and its records at any time. Employees can leave a company at any time.
SOS and check-ins are not emergency services
The SOS button and lone-worker check-ins send alerts to your company's managers through the internet. They do not contact 911 or any emergency service. They can fail without signal, with notifications turned off, with the app closed, or if no manager sees them. Call 911 or your local emergency number first in an emergency.
Invoices you send
You are responsible for the invoices you create and send, including accuracy, taxes shown, and payment terms. Gildhour is not a party to your dealings with clients and does not collect payments.
Acceptable use
Do not use Gildhour to track anyone without their knowledge or lawful basis, to harass, to break the law, to submit false punches or locations, to probe, overload or reverse-engineer the service beyond what law allows, or to upload unlawful content. Notes, names and messages you enter must not be unlawful, harassing or infringing. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these rules.
Our rights
Gildhour's software, name, logo and design belong to us. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it. Open-source components stay under their own licences. If you send feedback, we may use it freely.
Apps from the App Store
If you get Gildhour from Apple's App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for Gildhour or its support.
Availability and changes to the service
Gildhour is provided as is and as available. We may change, pause or stop features. If we end the service we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your data.
No warranty and limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we give no warranties, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a purpose, availability or non-infringement. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, lost data, lost earnings, missed alerts or missed shifts. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$50. Some places do not allow some of these limits; where that applies, they apply only as far as the law lets them. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Termination
You may stop using Gildhour at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or if required by law. On termination, sections that should survive (data and backups, no warranty, liability, governing law) do.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Massachusetts have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers in the EU/UK keep the mandatory protections and courts of their home country. Please email us first and give 30 days to resolve a dispute informally.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The current version is on this page with its date. For material changes we will post a notice on gildhour.com. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
